The Aussie giants have remained tight-lipped about Young's condition in order to protect his privacy. The only official statement announced he'd be "taking a break" while his colleagues worked on the follow-up to 2008's Black Ice. No one has commented on speculation that he's suffered a stroke, has cancer or is fighting Alzheimer's disease.
Fink also refuses to discuss specifics - but he tells WZLX: "I'm not expecting to see Malcolm return. The important thing is we all let Mal be and hope he can recover. We should all expect that Stevie is in the band now."
He tells Ultimate Classic Rock: "Fans seem to think his illness is going to go away, and he's going to be on stage when they announce their tour. If what I've heard from numerous sources is true, I expect Stevie will be touring with the band, and not Malcolm. That's not a seditious viewpoint - it's realistic."

Petty and the Heartbreakers first charted on the Billboard 200 when they released their self-titled album, featuring their seminal hits "American Girl" and "Breakdown," way back in 1977.
Incredibly, 37 years isn't the longest time an artist has had to wait to make the No. 1 album. Tony Bennett holds that bragging right after he waited 54 years. He finally earned the top slot with his 2011 album Duets II decades after he first appeared on the Billboard 200 in 1957 for Tony.

To celebrate the band's first release since 2008's All Hope is Gone, drummer and director M. Shawn Crahan adapted the band's interactive website. The result is a full-length ghoulish nightmare complete with severed goats heads and a woman stripping off her clothes as she loses her marbles in a dimly lit, tiled cell.
"The Negative One" is the first single from the metal band's fifth album, due this fall. "I can say that, to me - and this is only my opinion - it's a cross between Iowa and Volume 3 but that's honestly just scratching the surface," frontman Corey Taylor told Kerrang of the album in February. "I think the fans are going to be very, very excited when they hear this stuff.
"It feels like the story of the band so far, which is a totally different take on what I've been used to writing with Slipknot. But I think because of everything we've been through, it's time to tell that story. It's going to be everything you want in a Slipknot album, and everything you wouldn't expect."
The upcoming story will be the first one since the death of founding bass player, Paul Gray, as well the departure of drummer Joey Jordison.

It comes as Megadeth pulled out of a planned show in Israel over fears about the current security situation in the region. In an interview with Met Al Metal - recorded before the band cancelled the Tel Aviv gig which was due to take place yesterday - Mustaine says he refused to play on the same bill as Dissected in 2005 as he was trying to steer clear of Satanism, as well as drugs.
He says: "Well, the truth of the matter is when I first had gotten my life back in order back in 2002, I had made some changes. I figured, just for now, because I don't really know a lot about what I'm doing, I wanna make sure that I don't play with any bands that have junkies with them, because I can't be around guys that are doing heroin because of the temptation, and because I'm trying to have something in my life that is a power greater than myself so that I'll get myself back in shape.
"I don't wanna be hanging around guys that are gonna be dangerous for me spiritually, because I had just decided that I was gonna start following a spiritual path. Because I was into witchcraft and black magic and everything like that, so I know about that stuff. And I figured I'm just gonna try and avoid that stuff. I never said that I hated anybody. I just didn't wanna play with them."

Speaking about the band's new material, which also features drummer Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters, Ashba says: "Gotta Get It Right is a great example of how Sixx A.M. has set out to celebrate the music that has influenced us over the years. We truly feel we've made a genre-defying album with Modern Vintage."
In a statement on their Facebook page, Sixx A.M. say: "It's been great seeing how people are connecting the dots to what influenced this album and first single. We've had lots of comments with comparisons to Queen, T-Rex, Mott The Hoople etc. Those are some of the bands we love and have influenced us greatly, but we also feel there is a deep rebirth from the past into 2014."

The promo was shot last year at The Robin Hood Airport, Doncaster and along with Dickinson, features the iconic Avro Vulcan XH558. The band have long admired the aircraft, which was created to carry the first British-built atomic bomb, and they praised the work of the trust in charge of maintaining the bomber for future generations, saying: "The Vulcan has been a status symbol for Britain and something close to our hearts in terms of iconic national identity. And he admits the backlash from his supergroup colleagues mean it'll be difficult for him to return to the fold in the future. He told fans via Twitter on Monday that he wouldn't be with Russell Allen, Mike Orland and AJ Pero when they hit the road in September. That provoked an angry response from the band, who said they were "totally shocked" to discover the news online, and added a new bassist would be announced "as soon as we have one."
Moyer says in an update: "Adrenaline Mob has known for weeks that I would not be going with them on this run. I asked them to issue a press release saying so, but management said, 'No need,' and if I wanted to post it on my page that was fine. That conversation happened over a week ago. I'm very confused by the 'shock' of my post.
"I don't think management and band were on the same page; perhaps that was the 'shock' they referred to. Unfortunately it also reads as if they didn't know for sure if I was going out. This is definitely not the case. Once again, everyone has known for weeks that I was not going out. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they've already found my fill-in and have had some rehearsals with him."

They recently said: "We always knew our fans were some of the most devoted on the planet - and they proved it by stepping up, being a part of something new and supporting us. "We're working on another thing that hopefully might get released before the end of the year," Meniketti tells NI Rocks. "I can't really say much more about it, but it's kinda going to be a celebration of our 40th year in business. A retrospective sort of thing. We're working on that currently."

And he's slammed the organization's bosses for labeling Purple a one hit wonder, demanding to know which of several hit singles they're talking about.
Gillan tells Rolling Stone: "I'm saying what I'm about to say not to wind Ritchie up, if he's reading this. He knows we've got to talk about these things. So I say this with no rancour.
"I was just as much of an a**hole as Ritchie was - but Ritchie carried it on for a little longer. Had he stayed with the band, it would have been all over. It would have just ended. The day he walked out was the day we had to rebuild. We had Joe Satriani for a year, and he got us over the crisis, and then we got Steve Morse and started to rebuild. Within a couple of years, we started playing arenas again, and it's been fantastic ever since."

Nevalainen says: "For a number of years I have suffered from occasional but very difficult insomnia, my unwanted companion during many of our tours. I've done my best to try to control it, or at least to cope with it. There's not much information available on why some of us suffer from sleeplessness. There is no 100% cure for the problem.
"During the last month it has become evident that due I can't fulfil my duties as a musician in the way that I'd want, and with the precision the music deserves. Thus I have decided to step aside from Nightwish during the recording of the forthcoming album and the subsequent tour."

But they've said the activity doesn't mean there's a reunion on the horizon, following their split in 2011. Oceansize had the following to say via their Facebook page:
"No, we've not reformed. The powers that pretend-to-be are finally issuing our phonebook-sized 2007 record Frames on double vinyl. It sounds better than it ever has. Be quick, or be dead as they said. Love & Violence."
Now for the good and bad news.

And then there is Peter Frampton. The 70's guitar legend started by asking fans in Carmel, Indiana to not take video or use their flash. Then he allegedly made a direct plea with a couple that stood near the stage who disregarded his requests, causing him to play with his back to the audience.
As Onstage Magazine reports, the video recording party seemed like real jerks, flipping off Frampton and calling the rest of the fans "deadbeats." So Frampton went rogue and did what everyone likely wanted to do: he obtained the phone and threw it toward the rafters.

Someone really close to me found their spirituality at the age of 19. At the same time, he was attending a college that's kinda known for its parties and there is no doubt that he was facing temptations 24/7. That really inspired me and I wanted him to feel like I supported his decision. I wanted him to feel like it's OK to follow his heart, whether his heart lead him to parties or to church. the key is never lose hope. I believe that if you are a good person and follow your heart everything will work out in the end. That is what the song is about for me. But I honestly like every listener to find his or her own meaning too. Once a song is released everyone associates it with different times or events from their own lives. That's one of the best things about song writing. To see how the meaning of the same song grows and changes for different people with different stories.
I only like to record songs that can be played live. In creating Save My Soul I wanted a production with a certain bite and an edgy modern feel. I also wanted to record on a live setting. We decided to use synth bass instead of a regular bass to give it a more modern sound, but we kept it simple enough so it can be played with a power trio. I played both the synth bass, most rhythm guitar parts lead guitar. The drums were recorded live by great hard driving drummer Rob Humphries and producer John Sosin added some rhythm guitar and synth sounds.
