(antiTainment) Michael Jackson reportedly
faced more than the wheels of justice when he appeared in court this week,
he also faced threats of bodily harm according to what sources close to
the case told CNN.
According to the CNN report, The Santa
Barbara County Sheriff's Department ramped up security in light of threats
against the pop star, however they have refused to comment on the threats.
Jackson was in court for a hearing concerning
a possible violation of attorney-client privilege by the district attorneys
office. Jacksons attorney allege that the privilege was violated by Santa
Barbara County District Attorney Tom Sneddon when Sneddons office conducted
a search of the office belonging to a private investigator employed by
Jacksons former attorney Mark Geragos.
The defense is petitioning the court to
throw out any evidence acquired during the search, claiming that the prosecutor
knew of or should have known that the private investigator was an employee
of Geragos.
The DAs office says that they did not
know that at the time of the search and said that they obtained search
warrants for the investigators office after the mother of the alleged victim
told them that the office may contain items belonging to her.
