AFI Fire Sale

(antiMusic) You know when a band moves from a small indie label with very little promotion to a major label with a lot of muscle behind them and end up with the biggest selling album in the country; chances are someone will do their best to profit off of the previous releases from the indie label. Such seems to be the case with AFI and the site Interpunk.com. Punkbands found their AFI sale a bit of a rip off. They are selling the Nitro era AFI cds for $10 bucks but one reader thinks they are selling them at cost since most Nitro releases retail at $12.99. Does it really matter? Like punkbands, it was a bit of a slow news day but it is interesting to see punk commercialization in action. That being said, our very own Matthew Hastie just turned in his review of the new AFI album 'Decemberunderground' and he felt so strongly about it he gave it 5 Stars. He also noted that the move to bigger label opened creative doors for the band but didn't lead to a sell-out as it appears they are making the music they always wanted to. Of course, that's all conjecture and subjective but you can read the review at the full story link and if you wanna sample their older material to compare and contrast, hey they are on sale at the above mentioned site.[see full story for more] - Click here for the Full Story
