James Last Live DVD
Primarily known for adopting popular pieces of music to his universal style of orchestration, he is an energetic bandleader who prods his musicians on to great heights of virtuosity with his extremely physical and dramatic stance at the baton.
Last, 78, shows no signs of slowing down. From his 1965 debut album, Non-Stop Dancing, on through his work with samba vocalist Astrud Gilberto, his successful ‘70s television programs in his home country paved the way for the success of ABBA and other Euro pop stars. When Hollywood came calling, he was up to the task, penning “The Seduction” for American Gigolo (1980) and many others up to “The Lonely Shepherd” for Kill Bill (2003).
