Earshot Week: Final Day

09/05/2008
.
(antiMusic) Earshot is back! The modern rockers return with their latest major label effort "The Silver Lining" and frontman Wil Martin will be us all week to tell us a little about his favorite tracks from the CD but first he gives us a brief intro: "'The Silver Lining' as a whole is an album I'm very close to mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and I love every song. However, there are songs that I seem to always go back to, over and over again that I can't seem to get enough of."

Now Wil tells us about today's song: "Pushing To Shove" I will unfortunately always remember as being the song I was working on when I received news that my good friend and tour assistant J.D. was killed in a car accident on his way home. Perhaps the eeriest part about it is the first 2 lines of lyrics in the song were written at almost the exact time of the accident. It's a song written at a time when I was confused as to why and how such a great great person could be taken away from the world and myself so randomly. Which leads me to the next song, "Sometimes".

"Sometimes" is in part what inspired the name of our new album. It's also a song of reflection. Its a moment of personal inventory being taken of everything I had gone through in the last 3 years good and bad and what I had learned from it and taken away from it all. It's a song about salvation with a very intimate message of hope for all to hear.

You can learn more about the band, grab tour dates, and listen to songs from "The Silver Lining" - right here!
