Glasvegas Kicking Off U.S. Tour With Secret Vegas Show

06/03/2009
.
(PR) Glasvegas return to the U.S. for select tour dates this summer. The tour kicks off with a special Myspace Secret Show in Las Vegas on June 3rd at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. "Glasvegas' live show will certainly be a departure from everyday business, but we're thrilled to host this really special concert" said Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel proprietor Ron Decar.

"We're so excited to play the 'entertainment capital of the world' explained Glasvegas' enigmatic frontman James Allan. "And where else could we play except in a wedding chapel of course?!" With a love of all things Elvis and a band name inspired by this city, it's hard to believe the members of Glasvegas have never been to Las Vegas. "Las Vegas has always seemed like another planet to us," explained Allan. "Weird, unreachable and glamorous. Our love for the late great Elvis Presley and his infamous Las Vegas shows is the best inspiration we could wish for."

MySpace Music has organized nearly 200 Secret Shows since the franchise launched in February 2006 with artists like The Cure, Lily Allen, Fall Out Boy, Gnarls Barkley, The Offspring, Neil Diamond, Slayer, Franz Ferdinand, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs performing in cities around the world.

Users must friend the Secret Shows profile page in order to receive advanced notice of the special, free concerts. From there, they will find more information about the artists and upcoming schedule. Visit the MySpace Secret Shows profile at for all show details: http://www.myspace.com/secretshows.

Glasvegas' official tour kicks off on June 5th in Reno, NV at Club Underground and runs through August 8th in Chicago, IL where the band play the famed Lollapalooza Festival (see below for full itinerary). Glasvegas' summer plans also include returning to Europe for some noteworthy gigs with U2, Kings of Leon and Oasis. They'll also be performing at many high profile European festivals including Hurricane, Glastonbury, Roskiilde, Ruisrock, Eurokeenes, T in The Park, Oxegen, Benecassim, Leeds, Redding and more.

Glasvegas are James Allan (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rab Allan (lead guitar, backing vocals), Paul Donoghue (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Caroline McKay (drums).
