Five Finger Death Punch Going Soph

06/24/2009
.
(PR) Five Finger Death Punch are back with a new album, War Is The Answer (Prospect Park Records, October 6th), that picks up where their critically acclaimed, hit debut record The Way Of The Fist left off.

With a band name inspired by the ultimate death blow in the film Kill Bill, it is safe to say that these guys are brutally redefining contemporary metal.

Legions of underground fans itched for the release of the band’s first album in 2007, astoundingly helping it sell over 330,000 copies. It was hailed by numerous publications as one of the most innovative and refreshingly new sounding records of the year, launching them as modern icons of the genre.

With their unique blend of musicianship that pays homage to classic metal while incorporating a strong and fresh modern sound, it is no surprise that Five Finger Death Punch have already been featured artists at the Rockstar Energy MAYHEM Festival, have completed hugely successful headlining tours in both the United States and Europe, and have shared the stage with such names as KoRn, Disturbed, Slipknot, Kid Rock, Trivium, Flyleaf, Seether, Atreyu, and Mastodon.

The sophomore effort’s brooding first single, “Hard To See”, will impact rock radio on July 13th, a place the band has grown accustomed to with three hit singles in “The Bleeding,” “Never Enough,” and “Stranger Than Fiction.” Recorded in their hometown of Las Vegas, War Is The Answer was produced by the band as well as Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne), and mixed by Randy Staub (Metallica, Motley Crue, Nickelback). The record evolves the band’s already mature sound ranging from the undeniable melodies in “Hard to See” to the brutally nihilistic “Burn It Down”- destined to please fans both new and old. As the hottest new metal artist to emerge in the last two years, 5FDP are poised for stratospheric heights with War Is The Answer.
