Following their live debut headlining the Coachella Festival, Plastic Beach is set to arrive in Camden as Gorillaz play two sold out nights at London's Roundhouse on April 29th and 30th. Murdoc: I am quite literally holding my breath until I walk out on stage at the Roundhouse. It's hosted some legendary gigs – The Clash, The Doors and my own personal favourite, The Greasy Truckers Party. With my deep, dark basslines poured all over them this gig is going to melt your brain. Watch out Goth girls of Camden – IT'S GOING TO BE LOUD!!!
These are the first Gorillaz shows in London since 2001 and will be filmed exclusively by MTV UK's in-house production team and broadcast globally, across MTVNI's multiple territories reaching 480 million households in 68 countries, as part of MTV's World Stage franchise.
Matt Cook, Talent and Music Programming Director, MTV Networks UK & Ireland said: "It's a privilege for MTV UK to film and broadcast these shows. Gorillaz create breathtaking and original performances and these shows will no doubt continue this tradition and also MTV's history of groundbreaking work with Gorillaz".
The performance will also stream on Gorillaz.com and through Gorillaz Facebook and fans will be able to watch live streaming of tracks from Plastic Beach at http://gorillaz.mtv.com
