U2's Spider-Man Musical Delayed was a top 10 story this week . Here is the recap: (Gibson) The curtain will still rise on Broadway's new musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark it will just be a couple weeks later than planned. The stage production, featuring music by U2's Bono and The Edge, was supposed to begin previews on November 14 and open officially on December 21. Now, previews will start later this month and the show will open in January, according to Rolling Stone.

The reason for the delay: the creative team required more time for dress rehearsals and to meet safety standards for the actors (who, with Spidey's penchant for webslinging, will be doing some acrobatic moves). The Spider-Man musical has been in development for more than three years with a budget that has increased to $60 million.

Bono recently said that he and guitarist The Edge are trying to convince the other two members of U2 (bassist Adam Clayton and drummer Larry Mullen Jr.) to record an album based on the songs from the musical. -
