Today Nicole Sjoberg tells us about her new single "Label This" from her forthcoming album "The Journey." Here is the story:

The story behind 'Label This' is basically my outlook on things" states Nicole. "I never was the kind of person to be put inside of a box. I never fit in with a certain click in high school and I always kinda had friends from all walks of life and normally they were the ones considered 'weird'. I never believed in conforming and was always rebellious. If you told me not to do something, I'd do it just because I could. When I left high school and pursued music, I ended up meeting with all these different record labels and every label had me going to a million different producers to do a million different styles of songs. I could never understand why they'd want to condense everything I am to put me in a one dimensional category. I felt as if I had more to offer and that the corporations were cheating me out of being multifaceted and having the ability to speak my vision/message. I was surrounded by men in an industry that never really cared what I wanted and I was so tired of them telling me what to do and trying to dumb me down that I made the song a slap in the face to say, here 'LABEL THIS', what aren't you getting now? It's a female empowerment thing. I want it to showcase women from all walks of life coming together united supporting each other, with attitude, basically taking control. It's not about me thinking i'm too big for my britches. It's a message to women about standing up for yourself, coming into your own, embracing yourself for everything you are and liking who you are. It's about not taking s*** from anyone, doing it on your own terms, standing strong with confidence, especially after walking out of any kind of world of some sort of oppression/condition. There are many different layers to a woman and to individuals in general, so why can't we be what / who we wanna be? Why can't we be a little bit of everything? Let's stop judging and start accepting not only ourselves but each other!

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
