Sonic Youth and Lou Reed Benefit For Japan

(Gibson) Yoko Ono, Sonic Youth and Lou Reed will perform at a couple of New York fundraisers for the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

According to the Daily Express, the Japanese-born Ono, widow of John Lennon, will team up with son Sean, Sonic Youth and others for a benefit concert at New York's Miller Theatre at Columbia University on March 27.

Ono will also perform at April 9's Concert for Japan at the Japan Society. The show will also feature Reed, Laurie Anderson and Phillip Glass. Proceeds from both events will go to the Japan Society's Earthquake Relief Fund. more on this story
