Daft Punk Dash Fan's Coachella Hopes

Daft Punk fans hopes have been dashed after they were raised by a posting on the band's Vevo page that indicated they were going to perform at this year's Coachella festival.

The band's Vevo page listed a tour date at the Empire Polo Field on April 12th in Indio, California, a.k.a. Coachella. And with Lou Reed's mysterious cancelation at the music festival, it was easy to assume that Daft Punk may be the replacement.

However, the date was removed from the site and Rolling Stone contacted a representative for the band to get to bottom of things and were told, "Daft Punk is not performing at Coachella this year."

While the band will not be playing the music festival, they did recently deliver big news to fans: they will be releasing their new studio album, Random Access Memories, on May 21st.
