Carly Rae Jepsen Enlists Fans Help For New Song
. In March, Jepsen revealed her partnership with American Idol and Coca-Cola for their Perfect Harmony campaign. The eight-week project had fans involved in everything from the lyrics to what she'd wear onstage to perform the song on the American Idol finale. The finished product was released Tuesday (May 21) to iTunes, but fans saw the final results on last week's episode of American Idol. Prancing around the stage singing that she'll "take a picture of you taking a picture of me," the end product is one very catchy, synthy summer jam, albeit a meta one. "It was like those storybooks where there are alternate endings," Jepsen told Rolling Stone of the Perfect Harmony experience. The whole concept was we would create a song that all of the elements of the performance could be voted on the clothing the dancers wear, the background, the setting of the stage design, the lighting, everything. I liked the idea. I actually spent three days cooped up in my hotel room in the Bahamas, mapping out this idea of a song called 'Take a Picture.'"
