(Radio.com) Coldplay seem to be taking over New York City. Over the weekend, they hit the Studio 8H stage for Saturday Night Live, where they performed "Magic" and "A Sky Full of Stars." On Tuesday night (May 6) they visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to once again show their "Magic" ways, but also debuted their song "Always In My Head" on national TV. Well, at least the world wide web. The band's performance of the song off their upcoming album, Ghost Stories, out May 19, was a web-only exclusive.

In front of dangling paper stars, Chris Martin sang the rather somber song, which samples his daughter Apple's voice. In an interview last week on Zane Lowe's BBC1 Radio show said Apple's appearance on the track "was just an idea of togetherness through life's challenges."

Martin also explained the meaning behind the album's title-the band's first since 2011′s Mylo Xyloto, explaining, "The idea of ghost stories for me was: how do you let the things that happen to you, your ghosts, how do you let them affect your present and your future? Because there was a time when I was feeling like they were going to drag me down and ruin my life, and the lives of those around me."
