Sting Sings Police Classic On NYC Sidewalk

(Radio.com) Sting is not only looking to conquer Broadway, he wants to take hold of the sidewalks along the Great White Way too. The Last Ship musical, which Sting scored and tells the story of a shipyard closing in his hometown of Wallsend, a shipbuilding community in northeast England, won't make its debut until Sunday (Nov. 2), but Sting and the cast of the show took to the sidewalk of 52nd Street in New York for a special performance.

Standing between August Wilson and Neil Simon theaters, Sting fittingly surprised pedestrians by joining the cast for The Police's "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic."

An energetic number complete with confetti, the cast even managed to get a few New Yorkers involved in the sing-along. Streetgazers were in luck because that wasn't the only sidewalk performance of the night. After the performance of Sting's 1981 hit the cast then performed a choreographed number of "All Night Long" from The Last Ship.
