Brian Wilson Recruits She & Him and Kacey Musgraves For New Album
. (Radio.com) Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson has had a seismic influence on music over the past five decades, and his new album, No Pier Pressure, will point out his impact on the current generation of hit makers. Kacey Musgraves, fun.'s Nate Ruess, She & Him's Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward and Capital Cities' Sebu Simonian are all on the guest list. Also collaborating with Wilson are several of his former Beach Boys bandmates, including Al Jardine, David Marks and Blondie Chaplin. However, the album doesn't include Lana Del Rey, although the song that Del Rey was said to be working on, "The Last Song," is on the track list. Ditto Frank Ocean, although the song Wilson wanted to work with him on, "Our Special Love," is also included on the record as well. Also not mentioned in the press release announcing the record: guitar legend Jeff Beck, with whom Wilson toured and collaborated with on-stage; Beck said in interviews that they had spent time in the studio as well.
