.
(Radio.com) Fans know Billy Corgan best as the man at the helm of Smashing Pumpkins and various solo endeavors. However, Corgan admits that about 80 percent of his professional bandwidth is spent on a side venture: his role at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. The privately held league is the WWE's closest rival in terms of size and reach, and has the distinction of having a rock-star president. Corgan talked to ESPN about the future of wrestling and how his work in the entertainment sport informs his musical pursuits. "People have a very myopic view of what a rock star is," Corgan told the sports channel. "My version of rock star has always been I'm going to do what I want to do however I want to do it. From a business standpoint, Corgan explained how his success with Smashing Pumpkins positioned him as an innovator. Read his comments here.
