Former Slayer Drummer’s Systematic Future?

Despite several reports to the contrary former Slayer drummer Paul Bostaph has NOT officially joined Systematic. According to a spokesperson from Elektra Records, Bostaph has not been hired on to fill the vacant drummer slot in the band. In a Dec 21st press release Bostaph said that he decided to leave Slayer due to a chronic elbow injury and he felt he was unable to continue performing to his fullest potential and greatest intensity.

Paul Bostaph had played with Systematic’s Adam Ruppell in a previous band and was called upon to play drums with Systematic on New Year’s Eve for a radio-sponsored show in Modesto, California. That appearance touched off rumors that he had joined the group.

At Press Time Systematic is still in search of a replacement for departed drummer Shaun Bannon, who left the group last summer for medical reasons.
