VICTORY PILL will release their self-titled debut in the US and CANADA on 10/23 via CORPORATE PUNISHMENT/ KOCH, and in the UK on 10/1 via OTHERSIDE/ UNIVERSAL.

Victory Pill is the brainchild of JIM DAVIES "I started playing guitar, solely rock/metal. My turning point was when 'dance' bands like The Prodigy started using guitars. I loved all the squelchy synth sounds and textures which I started to replicate on the guitar. I also started to get more into effects and sounds which I think is when I developed a bit of a unique style for myself."- more on this story

Bear Claw Soph
PR reports: At points abstracted and dissonant, and at others strangely melodic, Bear Claw's sophomore endeavor, "Slow Speed: Deep Owls" (which drops September 25th on Sick Room Records) is an engaging work in the science and spirit of the new heavy.

Blessed be Chicago for providing us demanding listeners with such a consistent supply of challenging aural intensity. The two bass and drums trio of Bear Claw crafts a pulverizing and dynamic interplay between chaos and order. Working off an endless sense of tension, the band's assaultive foundry of rhythmical power rises and recedes beneath distorted four string churnings, occasional southern-fried sludge, and guttural monologues.

And, who's more suited to record such a project than Steve Albini? The answer... no one. Engineered by the king of high end grit at Electrical Audio and mastered by Bob Weston, the record's raw and mammoth sonic qualities fit the band hand in glove.- more on this story
