Radiohead Fires Back At Miley Cyrus
Jam! reports: Radiohead star Thom Yorke has continued music's oddest feud with Miley Cyrus after blasting her for threatening to "ruin" his band.

Cyrus revealed she had made it her mission to "ruin" Radiohead after frontman Yorke snubbed her at the Grammy Awards last month.

In a statement issued to magazine Us Weekly, the Radiohead frontman says, "When Miley grows up, she'll learn not to have such a sense of entitlement." - more on this story

Kid Rock On Fire In The Studio
Reuters reports: Kid Rock says he's "on fire" in the studio, which has led him to scuttle plans to tour this spring in order to finish work on his follow-up to 2007's double-platinum album "Rock N Roll Jesus."

"I really feel like I've kind of got this figured out," the rapper and singer-songwriter tells Billboard. "I think I can make an equally good record, if not better than the last one -- which is once again putting quite a weight on your shoulders. But I do like the pressure."

Rock hopes to have the album finished before he hits the road this summer and put it out in the fourth quarter. - more on this story

Guns N' Roses Leaker Going To Jail?
SleazeRoxx reports: David Kravets of Wired reports that federal prosecutors in Los Angeles are pursuing a 6-month prison term for a Los Angeles man who pleaded guilty in December to one misdemeanor count of uploading pre-release Guns N' Roses tracks, according to court documents.

Kevin Cogill was arrested last summer at gunpoint and charged with uploading nine tracks of the Chinese Democracy album to his music site -- antiquiet.com. The album, which cost millions and took 17 years to complete, was released November 23 and reached No. 3 in the charts.

The sentence being sought -- including the calculation of damages based on the illegal activity of as many as 1,310 websites that disseminated the music after Cogill released it -- underscores how serious the government is about punishing those for uploading pre-release material. - more on this story

Bono Blasts Illegal Downloading
antiMusic reports: U2 frontman Bono spoke with USA Today about his views of the illegal downloading of music. He said in part, "People think people like me are overpaid and over-nourished, and they're not wrong. What they're missing is, how does a songwriter get paid?

"It's not the place for rich rock stars to ask for more money, but somebody should fight for fellow artists, because this is madness. Music has become tap water, a utility, where for me it's a sacred thing, so I'm a little offended (by illegal downloading).

"The music business has been thrown to the dogs legislatively. That will change when file-sharing of TV shows and movies becomes as easy as songs. Somebody is going to call the cops." [Hate to break it to you that you are late to the ball, but it already is and the MPAA is one of the leaders in the anti-piracy arena] - Jam! has more on this story

Gene Simmons Vs Critic
Blabbermouth reports: Industry pundit Bob Lefsetz and KISS bassist Gene Simmons squared off in a battle royale of massive egos at Canadian Music Week after the pair exchanged e-mail insults on the first day of the conference.

Lefsetz was critical of what he saw as a solely self-promotional appearance by Simmons, who he said had little success with his label in the past.

"Just because you're a big musical act, that doesn't mean you're a decent executive, that you can run a record company," Lefsetz wrote to the thousands who receive his regular e-mails on the music business. "That's like saying a great football coach has to have been a star quarterback. They're different skills. One that Mr. Simmons has yet to master. Sure, he made that demo tape with Van Halen, but the band ended up on Warner Brothers!" - Watch a video of the debate and read more here

MusicRadar reports: The Twitter catfight between Trent Reznor and Chris Cornell is heating up, as Cornell has Tweeted a response to Reznor's unprovoked slam.

You'll recall the other day that Reznor took to his Twitter page and typed his thoughts on Cornell's new solo album, Scream: "You know that feeling you get when somebody embarrasses themselves so badly YOU feel uncomfortable?" Reznor wrote. "Heard Chris Cornell's record? Jesus."

Instead of doing what we would do and say something like "Your sister's so ugly, she..." Cornell got all biblical on the NIN man and wrote, "What do you think Jesus would twitter? 'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone' or 'Has anyone seen Judas? He was here a minute ago.'" - more on this story
