Legit P2P
Punkbands reports: Bertelsmann AG (BMG) is launching a paid music download service that uses peer-to-peer technology. Officially annoucend on Friday, the new service called GMAB will use a P2P technology combined with a centralized hub to "managing copyright issues, with a decentralised network for distribution."

This means that partners of the company, like its own BMG subsidiary, will be now be able to sell downloads direct to customers, including large files like movies and games, without overworking the centralised server.

BMG has agreements with a number of music labels, giving them the ability to make a million songs available.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Punkbands reports: Matt Sharp (ex-Weezer) has announced the regrouping of his 1990's alternative/punk/new wave outfit, The Rentals. The group is working on their first album in over five years in LA, and plans the release, along with heavy touring, for the new year. Jane's Addiction Hits
Trent McMartin - antiMusic reports: Even though alternative rock pioneers Jane’s Addiction called it quits last year it has been reported that a brand new a hits compilation tentatively titled the “Best of Jane's Addiction” will hit shelves next year.

gorgeous pr reports: Mardo will join hard rock mavericks King's X starting November 1, 2005 for a tour that will take them coast to coast and everywhere in between! Fenix TX Returns
Press Release reports: Sometimes wishes do come true. For fans of Fenix TX who wished for reconciliation after the band's sudden break-up in 2002, the dream will become reality on November 8 when the highly anticipated PURPLE REIGN IN BLOOD - LIVE album (with enhanced CD featuring a live video of "Katie W") will be released on Adrenaline Music/New Planet Ventures (distributed by ADA). 

The band launched an extensive tour in Cleveland on October 7 to bring the celebration directly to their anxious fans. Press Release reports: Rhino Entertainment presents LIVE 8 AT EDEN - AFRICA CALLING arriving on DVD November 1, 2005. Radiohead 'Splitting Up'
Gigwise reports: Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has posted a message on the band's website saying the band are "splitting up."

In a very tongue in cheek post Yorke said the band were washed up before admitting that he was only joking. Thank God for that. 

In a typically off-kilter post, Yorke joked: "It is the end of our two week session. We're splitting up its all shit. We're washed up. Finished. Only kidding.
