E! Dishonors Dimebag
DiR reports: TV hits new lows every damn day but this is getting down there. It appears that the folks at E! are producing a show called "25 Most Chilling Hollywood Murders" and actually hit up the Pantera camp about licensing footage of Dimebag and want to re-enact his murder. Below is only part of the response Jane Hoffman reportedly sent E!. "I ask that you all please take a moment from your busy days and close your eyes. Live out the fantasy of playing your favorite instrument onstage. Your closest friends in the world surround you, either in the band or in your crew. From one side of the stage, a man approaches. Thinking he's a security guy or a drunk fan who's just a bit out a line, you continue to perform. Two seconds later, he lifts his arms, aims a rifle at your brother, your best friend, your buddy and blows his brains out, not three feet from where you are. In the nanosecond it takes you to comprehend the magnitude of what just happened, he does it again ...and again ...and again ...and again ...and again ...and again before taking aim and murdering additional members of your extended family as well as fans that have come to see you play. Two of your crew are shot but survive, but of course, will never be the same again.

Now imagine it's a few years later and you turn on the TV set. Just in case you may be having at least a five minute respite from that scene that plays over and over in your head, just in case .....you flip through the channels and there it is. Again. Only with some two bit actor who thinks this is his big Hollywood break….. The answer is no, and on behalf of everyone that was there that night and everyone that misses him every day, you can take that no and shove it up your collective asses. Punk Protest a Bust
punkbands reports: Last week we ran this story about the members of the hardcore band Cut Throat claiming to be roughed up by cops at a show near Philadelphia. Well in light of the allegations, there was an attempted protest against police brutality which was to be held outside the Leominster, PA police station yesterday. Contingency plans were put into place by the cops in case things got violent, journalists were on hand to document the punks vs cops angle, and it looked like the spirit of the genre was about to receive a well deserved boot in the ass. However, there was one minor problem... by the 2pm start time, no one was there.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Satan Banned
PR reports: UK music TV channel Scuzz TV has banned the new video for Deicide's 'Homage For Satan' condemning it for being offensive and derogatory. In a statement a Scuzz representative declared that "the lyrical content is religiously offensive, derogatory, and can be read as improper exploitation of any susceptibilities of the audience". They further commented "With regards the imagery itself, the inclusion of a priest or religious figure in any belief system is always a very touchy subject, but the possession of one such person, and the disparaging respect for the Christian Bible is in direct conflict with Ofcom regulations". The video, featuring blood-splattered zombies on a rampaging mission to capture a priest forcibly underlies Deicide's explicit stance against religion, yet is a representation of death metal at its best. The banning of the video coincides with the eagerly anticipated release of Deicide's highly acclaimed album 'The Stench Of Redemption' and effectively removes the chance for extreme music to be represented to a mass audience. The outright banning of the video marks a worrying trend, as the station declares that they 'generally don't play death/black metal on Scuzz anymore' yet boldly label themselves as a 'rock hard' channel. To make your own mind up about the video you can check it out on You Tube at the full story link- Click Here for the Full Story
