Seacrest
New Year |
Celebrity Week reports: Ryan Seacrest admits
that when it comes to Dick Clark, he's a "little bit of a stalker." The
American Idol host says he's read every book and article about his mentor
and adds "sometimes I'm afraid I scare him because I'm so overzealous."
Apparently not that scared, considering Clark asked Seacrest back as co-host
of New Year's Rockin' Eve again this year.
We caught up with the Seacrest to find
out more about … Who he wants to kiss at midnight: "Christina Aguilera...
I've been looking at the choices this year. Rascal Flatts, Christina, The
Jersey Boys... Yeah, I think I'm going to pick Christina." [Sure it's not
Clay Aiken?]
Taking over for Dick: "As far as I'm concerned
Dick can do it and will do it as long as he wants to and when he doesn't
want to and he wants to sit at home and watch it, hopefully he will still
like me and I can continue the tradition. " [see full story for more]-

Beach
Boys Legal Wipeout |
TMZ reports: The Beach Boys just learned a
hard lesson about the American justice system. TMZ has learned that on
December 11, Danny Morin, the lawyer from Brother Records Inc. (The Beach
Boys' company), showed up 13 minutes late for a court hearing in Los Angeles
Federal Court. Judge Manuel Real, legendary for his explosive tirades,
sent some seriously bad vibrations through the courtoom by dismissing The
Beach Boys' case.
Brother Records Inc. filed the lawsuit
last January, seeking $20 million in damages from two men who allegedly
stole a treasure trove of band memorabilia from a North Hollywood warehouse.
The band claimed that Allan Gaba, owner of the warehouse, and his friend
Roy Sciacca, pilfered such items as Brian Wilson and Mike Love's contract
for the song, "Do It Again," photos of the band with George Harrison, and
original music compositions.[see full story for more]-

FameCast |
PR reports: A new online contest was recently
launched by FameCast. The nationwide contest, the first of many to be held
by FameCast, was developed to discover the next big music and comedy stars.
The FameCast contest will showcase legitimate artists who have yet to be
discovered and whom the audience deems to be worthy of stardom. The online
contest and community will provide contestants the ability to connect with
and grow a national audience and compete to win the grand prize worth $10,000.
FameCast removes the physical barriers to talent discovery and aims to
shine the spotlight on those that have what it takes, but have lacked the
breaks.
For the first contest, contestants will
participate on one of six stages - Rock, Pop, R&B, Country, Hip Hop,
and Comedy. Contestants will need to submit a video performance to participate
and judging for all qualified submitted performances will open up on January
8, 2007. The contest exists to serve the talent industry, the artists themselves,
and the fans voting for who's worthy of being called the best. The audience
truly decides who rises to the top, democratizing the talent industry -
for the people, by the people. The final five contestants from each Stage
will be flown on location in Austin, TX to compete in a live show during
SXSW the week of March 12, 2007. The shows will be Webcast for viewers
to watch and select the ultimate FameCast winners that same week.-

Remembers James Brown |
PR reports: James Brown's longtime California
attorney, Debra Opri, issues the following statement:
"It is with great sadness and sorrow that
the world lost a legend and pioneer of the music world. James Brown was
known to all as 'The Godfather of Soul.' I knew him as a very good, kind,
and religious man, so how befitting it is that he passed on the day Christ
was born."
