Bono Buys Nirvana?
Blabbermouth reports: James Hall of the U.K.'s Telegraph.co.uk is reporting that Elevation Partners - the private equity company whose partners include Bono, the U2 singer - is thought to be the front-runner in a multi-million pound deal to acquire a stake in the back catalogue of NIRVANA, the 1990s grunge pioneers.

The publishing rights to the group's songs are currently owned by Courtney Love, the widow of Kurt Cobain, NIRVANA's singer, who committed suicide in April 1994.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Morrissey Vs Canada
Mammoth Press reports: Statement from Morrissey via True-To-You.net: "We will not include any Canadian dates on our world tour to promote our new album. This is in protest against the barbaric slaughter of over 325,000 baby seals which is now underway. I fully realise that the absence of any Morrissey concerts in Canada is unlikely to bring the Canadian economy to its knees, but it is our small protest against this horrific slaughter - which is the largest slaughter of marine animal species found anywhere on the planet.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Post Helloween
Blabbermouth reports: Frontiers Records will release former HELLOWEEN singer Michael Kiske's new solo album, simply entitled "Kiske", on May 19.

Featuring Karsten Nagel — Michael's old schoolmate — on drums and Sandro Giampietro and Fontaine Burnett on guitars and bass, respectively, "Kiske" is said to be a very personal statement — from the beginning to the end. "The best way of describing what this record stands for in my mind and personal world would be: it's a health-careless and musically free!" said Kiske in less-than-perfect English. "I somehow managed to break down or overcome more subconscious barriers as a songwriter this time. I was able to write and produce a record that could either be a nice ending or beginning for a new career.'[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Randy Rhoads Scholar
KNAC reports: Delores Rhoads has added $20,000 to the scholarship endowment she created more than 10 years ago at California State University, Northridge, as a tribute to her late son, Randy Rhoads, CSUN said. The endowment, now worth $45,000, is designed to offer financial aid to guitar students.

Delores Rhoads founded and operates Musonia, a North Hollywood music school where her son began taking lessons at age 6. By age 14, Randy was performing with local bands, and at age 20, Randy and friends formed the heavy-metal band QUIET RIOT while he taught at his mother's school during the day. In 1979, Randy became OZZY OSBOURNE's lead guitarist on his first two solo albums.
