Greatest Metal Songs
antiMusic reports: Vh1 kicks off their special Metal Month with the '40 Greatest Metal Songs of All Time' tonight at 11:00 PM EST and we are sure to see heavy discussion on the metal boards across the web shortly after the first installment airs. Especially when you have the inventors of the genre (Black Sabbath) a few places behind Korn. These lists are subjective and you'll never come up with a list everyone will be happy with. So with that in mind a call was sent out to our metalhearted brethren here at antiMusic for their 12 Greatest Metal Songs of All time lists and we got quite different (and some surprising) results (Metallica only received two nods in total). Over the next week we'll be posting each list on our sister site Thrashpit.com with the top 3 picks here to compare and contrast how different people view metal. That will start tomorrow but for today here are the top 4 songs picked across all of the lists!

1. Slayer's "Reign in Blood" - Clear winner with 5 nods!
2. Pantera's "Cowboys From Hell" - 3 nods
3. Iron Maiden - They had two songs make our master list with 2 nods each for "The Number of the Beast" and "the Trooper".
4. (we have a 4 way tie for #4 with 2 nods each) In alphabetical order:

AC/DC's "Hell's Bells"
Black Sabbath's "Iron Man"
Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train"
Venom's "Black Metal"

That's our Top 4, click the full story link to check out Vh1's program page for their '40 Greatest Metal Songs of All Time' and tune in tonight for songs 40-31 and let the debate begin! - Click Here for the Full Story
