. (Contact Music) Rockers U2 stunned fans at the Cannes Film Festival in France on Saturday night (19May07) with a free live midnight show on the red carpet. The group performed for 10 minutes on the seaside town's Croisette, and frontman Bono surprised festival-goers by speaking in fluent French. He yelled, "Bon anniversaire, Cannes!" as the group kicked off their performance of Vertigo and later admitted, "I have often slept on this beach."
