Kottak is very happy to announce that they have teamed up with fellow musician, Phil Varone (Saigon Kick, Skid Row), to benefit the teen boys in residence at the Clear View Treatment Center in San Bernardino, California.

According to Kottak drummer, Athena, "We knew we wanted to do a gift drive to benefit a children's charity as part of our Kottak Khristmas party on December 19th at the Cat Club in Hollywood; we just didn't know which charity we were going to donate the gifts to yet."

Second Installment of Todd Rundgren Biography Released
After a seven year gap, much to the anticipation of Todd Rundgren fans worldwide, A Dream Goes On Forever - The Continuing Story of Todd Rundgren vol. 2 was published by Golden Treasures Publishing on December 15. 2009.

There is no more consummate musician than Todd Rundgren. There is no more complete collected account of his sonic accomplishments than A Dream Goes on Forever. This second volume of the biographic series tracks his history from the triumphant mid-'70s atop the golden pyramid to the challenging mid-'80s when he faced the demise of Utopia. Follow the album-by-album coverage from Todd's landmark 1977 production of Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell through to the persistence of vision which allowed him to continue creating music after the end of his video studio, record label and band. From Utopia to Oblivion and beyond.

No account of Todd Rundgren's second decade of creativity would be complete without extensive coverage of his pioneering efforts in music video. From his first forays into live TV to the founding of his state-of-the-art $2 million studio, Todd poured as much energy, money and talent into the advancement of music video as he did for his audio adventures. Relish the highs such as when "Time Heals" becomes the second video ever played on MTV, or Utopia presides over the channel's first birthday celebration with Nina Blackwood. Be there as Martha Quinn and Todd announce results of a Basement Tapes session, and when the band produces award-winning videography for "Feets Don't Fail Me Now". Follow along on the rollercoaster ride as Utopia's TV show plans get foiled by lost RCA satellites, and the studio ultimately and tragically goes up in flames. - more on this story

CCR, Weezer, Collective Soul, The Beach Boys and more Rockin' Christmas for a Cure
Doug "Cosmo" Clifford and Stu Cook of the legendary American musical group Creedence Clearwater Revival are pleased to be a part of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's charity CD Hope For The Holidays - Rockin' Christmas for a Cure.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rhythm section (drums and bass respectively) with their latest project Creedence Clearwater Revisited contributed a version of the Christmas classic "Run Rudolph Run" for inclusion on the compilation CD which serves to benefit the JDRF.

The 27 track collection also includes holiday recordings from Weezer, Collective Soul, The Beach Boys, Jon Anderson of Yes, and others. "Run Rudolph Run," written by Johnny Marks and Marvin Brodie, was first recorded by Chuck Berry in 1958. Creedence Clearwater Revisited's fresh take on "Run Rudolph Run" is one that gives the holidays a rousing, classic rock, swampy flair. - more on this story

Dave Matthews Band Boxset
On December 22nd, RCA will release Dave Matthews Band's Europe 2009, the ultimate companion to the band's latest studio album, the Platinum-certified Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, which was recently nominated for two GRAMMY awards - "Album Of The Year" and "Best Rock Album."

Europe 2009 includes Dave Matthews Band: Live from Lucca, a set of three CDs from the group's July 5, 2009 show in Lucca, Italy, and Across the Pond, a DVD from its June 26, 2009 show at O2 Academy Brixton in London, England. Green Day Singer Poisoned
Green Day had bad news for fans in Melbourne yesterday, the band's frontman came down with what they suspected was food poisoning. (A bad vegemite sandwich perhaps?). As a result they rescheduled their show on Monday night for tomorrow (Wednesday Dec 16th). At press time it looks like that new show is still a go.

Here is what the band's website had to say: The Frontier Touring Company regret to advise that a sudden illness has struck down Green Day lead singer Billie-Joe Armstrong (food poisoning is suspected).

Although Billie-Joe was determined to perform tonight it became apparent at 4.30pm today that he would be unable to take to the stage - particularly in light of the lengthy 2.5-3 hour show the band traditionally perform. - more on this story

Rock Hall Snub KISS but Will Induct Iggy
Gene Simmons was once asked about the lack of respect KISS had receive from Rolling Stone magazine and he responded with something along the lines of Rolling Stone still hasn't gotten 'it' to this day. But that's ok. Being accepted by aging hippies isn't at the top of his priority list. That's a good thing because Rolling Stone just did it again.

KISS were finally nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, after many years of being ignored by the organization. Being nominated is one thing, but being inducted is another and Rolling Stone.com announced the class of 2010 this morning and KISS isn't on the list.

The ones who are on the list are The Stooges, Genesis, ABBA, the Hollies and Jimmy Cliff. They will be inducted in March. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, LL Cool J, Donna Summer, Laura Nyro and Darlene Love join KISS on list of artists who were nominated this go round but didn't make the cut.
