Plant surprised The Independent's James McNair when he made the following proclamation at the end of their conversation, "And maybe this new album is the end now for me."
McNair followed up and asked "Really? The end of what?" and Plant responded, "Of this musical wanderlust and the wonderful carousel that I've been on.
"It's like a kaleidoscope: you hold it up to the light, rotate it, and the pieces fall beautifully in different ways, but this record feels different. It's a consummation of all those bits from Son House to Roni Size to the Gambia and it seems to have some sort of finality."
The new album is set to be released on September 9th and Plant has lined up a handful of dates to support the trek including a show in London and four North American dates.

The magazine quotes the band's leader Ray Davies as saying of his bandmate and brother: "Dave's invited to the party, but if he doesn't want to do it, [the reunion] will happen anyway. He's very welcome to turn up if he wants. I'd much rather work with him than without him."
When asked if the Kinks would still be the Kinks without Dave, Ray is quoted as saying, "Yes, it would. I think it's all down to the music. If somebody can't or won't play, there are other players out there. Mick and I want to do it," referring to founding drummer Mick Avory.
However, now Ray Davies claims he never said any such thing. The Kinks' official Facebook page posted a message today that reads: "MOJO is wrong. There will be NO Kinks reunion without BOTH Ray and Dave Davies. Ray Davies claims to have never said this."

"Having most recently visited Wembley in May to watch Sheffield United in the FA Cup semifinal," said singer Joe Elliott, "I know what the atmosphere in the ground is like for 'our' football, so I'm really looking forward to performing there before the NFL game , of course, soaking up the excitement of the actual match. I can't wait!"

White did indeed perform, playing a full 28 song set that included songs from his time with The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, as well as material from his two solo albums.
White is currently on tour in support of his latest solo release, Lazaretto, which earned the distinction of being the biggest vinyl release in twenty years, selling over 60,000 copies since its release in June.
It doesn't seem as if the sprained ankle will cause White to postpone the tour, since the musician took the stage again Monday night (August 25) in Seattle. More

That record is now out of print and PBF have re-recorded a string of songs from it and follow-up EP Burning in Water... Drowning in Flame for new release As The World Burns - out on October 20.

The show sent over these details: In August 1979 a lot of North American rock music fans had no idea that Highway to Hell was the Australian-based AC/DC's fifth studio album, and that their long-suffering U.S. record label was getting frustrated by the band's lack of sales.
Short on money but with a full tank of steely determination, armed with a demo tape containing Highway to Hell , the band found and secured a young South African producer named "Mutt" Lange. Lead guitarist Angus Young recounts to InTheStudio host Redbeard:
"We actually had written most of the songs in a weekend for Highway to Hell... We snuck in the rehearsal studio...we put a tape together and sent it to Mutt Lange and he said, 'Look, I hear what you're trying to do. I'm sure I can do you a great job'."
The result was a rock masterpiece complete with the title track "Highway to Hell", "Girl's Got Rhythm", "Shot Down In Flames", "If You Want Blood" which all to quickly became rock classics. But as rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young recalls, tragically, colorful lead singer Bon Scott would only get to enjoy the worldwide success of Highway to Hell (certified seven million sold in the US) for another eight short months.
"Bon was unlucky, he just happened to fall asleep with his head in the wrong position from a big night of drinking... Bon wasn't a rockstar like Jim Morrison. Bon was a rock and roller. He lived that lifestyle, he didn't act that lifestyle."

The six-disc set, including 138 tracks, is available for pre-order at Amazon and iTunes. The collection draws from Dylan's legendary 1967 sessions with the musicians who would later name themselves "The Band."
But for those who are unfamiliar with that era in Dylan history, here's some context: After a few years as one of pop's most significant voices in the '60s, Dylan took a break in July of 1966, when he was reported to have been injured in a motorcycle accident (Dylanologists have long debated whether or not that was just a ruse).
What is agreed upon is that Dylan retreated to upstate New York, where he recorded lots of new music (reportedly over a hundred songs) with Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, Garth Hudson and, later, Levon Helm, in the basement of a small house, dubbed "Big Pink" by the group, in West Saugerties. Their recordings included traditional covers as well as dozens of newly written Bob Dylan songs, including "I Shall Be Released," "The Mighty Quinn," "This Wheel's On Fire" and "You Ain't Going Nowhere."

Slash tells UltimateGuitar: "It's been an amazing experience. Those guys have been heroes of mine ever since I was a teenager - and also because they're just such a great f***ing band.
"I think it's really upped our game playing with those guys. Our tour in November will be that much better as a result of having played with Aerosmith."

Filmed in November 1981 on the Abacab tour in North America, it was originally released on VHS to coincide with the live album of the same name. It has only ever been released on DVD in the limited edition box set The Movie Box 1981-2007.
Originally filmed in 16mm, the footage has now been fully restored and is being reissued as a standalone DVD and Blu-ray. The show focuses on tracks from the Duke and Abacab albums and the tracks are intercut with behind the scenes footage and interviews with band members. More

In his latest video blog, Bonamassa says: "The recording session in Vegas was great. It's a very creative place for us because there isn't any distractions, we're not at home and all we have to do is go from the hotel room to the studio and back to the hotel room. It's a very focused session. I'm very excited about hearing more finished versions of the songs."
It wasn't all plain sailing though. The guitarist previously admitted the writing process for the album wasn't the easiest he has ever experienced. Watch the video update

The cruise will be launching from Miami on September 22nd and will be visiting ports in Key West, Florida and Cozumel before concluding on September 26th.
Motorhead's Motorboat will include Motorhead, Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament, Down, High On Fire, Kill Devil Hill, Zakk Wylde, Jim Breuer Band, Danko Jones, Fireball Ministry, and Wilson.
The newly announced activities will include a spoken word performance from Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian that will promote the upcoming November 13th release of Ian's spoken word CD "Swearing Words In Glasgow."
There will also be a special onboard screening of the Lemmy Kilmister documentary "Lemmy," which was directed by Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski.
Organizers have revealed the following details about the special theme nights that will be taking place on cruise:
Monday, September 22 -- Loud and Hometown Proud: Motorhead's Motorboat will have a very diverse and international crowd. Guests are encouraged to be proud of where they come from. Wear a state jersey, don your Nordic horns, paint your face and show your city/state/country pride.
Tuesday, September 23 -- Pajamarama: "Rock on out in your jammies!" It's the biggest slumber party on the open seas. We know some people like to sleep in the buff, so remember that you have to wear something, even if it's minimal. And who knows, there might even be the biggest pillow fight of all time?
Wednesday, September 24 -- Fiesta En Barco: Motorboat is going to Mexico and back. It's siesta and fiesta day! In the morning - sleep late. We don't get off the boat in Cozumel until 1pm. (There will be activities a'plenty in the morning - info on those will come later). When we get back, it's FIESTA all night - bring something from home, or pick up something new in Mexico - show off how you spent your day: sombreros, Mexican wrestling masks, donkeys, your tequila face, anything...
Traditionally, theme nights start after dinner and go late into the night. While guests are not required to dress up, the sea's the limit with the amount of fun one can have. Find others to join you and dress up in groups. Go stag and stand out in the crowd. Enjoy yourselves...be creative and push the envelope.
Thursday, September 25 -- Go To Heaven, Raise Hell: This is our full day at sea! It's Heaven & Hell, Leather & Lace. It's the best of both worlds. Show us your good side or your naughty side. As we pay homage to those rock gods that have passed, come to our all star jam dressed as your favorite rocker, groupie, devil, or angel. The sky and the sea are the limit!

It's described by their label as "an album for the ages, with lyrics that focus upon suggestive metaphors for the intangible minutiae of everyday life rather than relationships and lost love."

Sanchez explains: "Several months ago I wrote Atlas for him. At the time, I could only imagine the feelings I'd have for him when I'd have to leave for tour. I didn't truly understand the power and relevance of the song's sentiment.
"Now, after having him in my life for almost three months and with Neverender just a few weeks away, I'm starting to feel it. This will be my first tour away from Atlas. And sure, it will be hard - but it's all for him. I'd like to share that song with you."

The multi-talented singer-songwriter, actor and humanitarian was inspired to paint by his artist mother at a young age growing up in Seymour, Indiana. In the early '80s, he attended the Art Students League of New York and was influenced by, among others, German-Expressionists Otto Dix and Max Beckmann.

Guitarist Nico Elgstrand says: "Fellow tea-sipping, sheep-shagging bastards of Britannia, the time has finally come for retribution. For too long have we been watching and waiting silently on the sidelines, but in November we shall once and for all together bring back the spirit of proper metal mayhem as was once the trademark of the Empire.
"Sharpen your swords, polish your helmets and be prepared for the last victorious battle of our age. As the wise King Willie once said, 'There is no stopping what cannot be stopped, no killing what cannot be killed. You cannot see the eye of the demon. Until him come calling. This is dread man, truly dread.'"

Now Di'Anno tells The Metal Voice: "I spoke to the wife and she said, 'Oh, my God - if you stay home for two months I'll probably murder you.' So I decided in the end, 'F*** it.'"
He explains: "I was going to retire because of a bad knee, and it was really pissing me off. I thought about quitting - not because I wanted to, but I thought, 'This could get worse; I'm doing more damage to it.' Then I thought, 'It doesn't make a difference. It's about the voice.'"

His top pick was Electric Ladyland by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Halford says: "Listening to this music at the time it was being made is something I'll never forget.
"Simply because of the sheer audacity of this extraordinary guitar player and artist. He made the room light up so vividly. To listen to the sounds that he made with the electric guitar was unbelievably special.
"Things were changing at this time. The music in general was getting louder. Marshall amps were being made, speaker cabinets were being used - everything was getting bigger, louder, more impactful. I think Jimi had something to do with that."
He also praises Led Zeppelin II, describing it as the "roots of heavy metal." Halford adds: "When I heard the riffs that Jimmy was doing, I got a real sense of where things were going. Even though Led Zeppelin never expressed, 'We've got some heavy metal in us,' it's quite apparent that it was there all along."

Frontman Steven Tyler starts out the clip by getting the audience pumped up to be on the video, with guitarist Joe Perry announcing that "every ticket bought, a part of that is going to the ALS Foundation, too."
Roadies then feverishly prepare the band to be soaked in near-freezing water, removing electrical equipment from the clothing. After the ice bucket drenching concludes, drummer Joey Kramer looks the most horrified of the five by the experience, while Tyler doesn't seem phased one-bit, fueling speculation that the years of rock and roll living have left him with a complete loss of physical sensation in his body.
Who's next? Aerosmith calls out a pretty random assortment of folks: Quentin Tarantino, Fleetwood Mac, Cheap Trick, the Dali Lama, and both their road crew and opening act Slash's.

The US rockers played last weekend's Reading festival and are due to release F.E.A.R. (Face Everything And Rise) in 2015. And the singer says there are positive vibes throughout the album - an important element in the band's sound.
Shaddix tells Kerrang!: "It's probably the most positive record we've written. The element is from the darkness to the light. I think there's obviously been an element of hope within the despair of the music we write and I think that's always key. It's very important to always have that element of hope, and that's laced throughout the record."
The album was recorded in Las Vegas and the singer, who has battled alcohol and drug addiction, reveals he was apprehensive about visiting the city because of his past problems.

The new effort features the return of singer Marco Aro, 10 years after he ended his first spell at the helm. He has described the new album as his best ever work with the band.
On Cutting Teeth, he says: "We decided to make a video that matched the brutality in the song, so we contacted a guy we had heard great things about, Jakob Arevarn.
"With Jakob at the helm, the filming and all the stuff around the shoot went really smooth - and it turns out I made a good friend along the way too. So here it is. Enjoy and we'll see you all soon."

Men Who Climb Mountains will be their first recorded work with drummer Craig Blundell, who replaced Nick Higham earlier this year. Describing the music as "very melodic," Barrett recently said of the storyline:
"Sometimes I get asked to write a detailed description of what all the songs are about. It takes about two hours. This time I thought, 'Sod it - what it's all about is in the lyrics! Leave it to people to find their own dimension in it; it's much more fun."

Shepherd tells Australia's Music Feed: "We have something dropping in October, something we're very excited about and we actually worked really hard on."
The singer also says the band are laying down the groundwork for the follow-up to 2013's Goliath. She says: "Our new album is well underway and that will be coming out next year - Soundwave is going to be perfect spot to debut some new music."

"You Are The Girl" actually began five or six years ago. I had that melodic hook you hear on the intro as the starting point and the verses came pretty easily. I was never really happy with the chorus, though. The idea at the time was about shutting out everything going on outside (mostly the constant demands of music) to be with your girl for a night. But the focus lyrically was on the stuff that tries to get in the door. I let it sit for a year or two until I was writing with a friend of mine one weekend and I pulled it out. He immediately realized the focus on the chorus needed to be shifted to "the girl" and musically it really needed to open up. We wrote the chorus as it exists today in about 5 minutes. The song still needed a bridge and we had several ideas but all of them were flawed in one way or another. So the song went back in the notebook for another couple years.
After PFB released our EP "Motor City Blood", I was digging through my songwriting notebook and came back across this song. It was right in the wheelhouse of what we had been working on as a band and I think that context helped me put all the pieces together. I could really hear all the parts, even down to drum accents, which is a rare thing for me. I brought it into the practice room shortly thereafter and it came together flawlessly.
We played it live for about 6 months and after listening to some pre-production tracks we had laid down, I heard the final piece of the puzzle - changing that opening lick to a banjo instead of a guitar and then incorporating that texture throughout the song. And when it came time to lay it down, Brad Wright knocked the ball out of the park!
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about the band and the album
