Eric Clapton Announces Return To Concert Stage
.
(Radio.com) Earlier this year, Eric Clapton revealed that he'd been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, making playing guitar difficult for him. However, it won't stop him from performing: he's just announced two concerts for next year at Los Angeles's Forum (there was also a full page ad in today's New York Times). The concerts, March 25 and 26, will also feature Gary Clark Jr. and Jimmie Vaughan. He also has three previously announced shows at London's Royal Albert Hall in May. Interestingly, the just-announced concerts are billed "A Celebration of 50 Years of Music," and the advertisement uses images of Clapton from throughout his solo career, as well as with some of his former bands including Cream and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, and also with his former Blind Faith bandmate Steve Winwood.
