Cello rockers Apocalyptica have recruited Metallica frontman James Hetfield and bassist Robert Trujillo to join them on a cover of the legendary metal band's "One", which will be released this Friday, May 17th.

The track will appear on the forthcoming album "Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2" that will be hitting stores on June 7th via Throwdown Entertainment (continue)

Welcome To Rockville is officially the biggest rock festival in North America, hosting more than 200,000 people and 150 bands on 5 stages for the first time. This year, Rockville also broke records to become the largest event for festival producer Danny Wimmer Presents. Looking ahead, the May 2025 festival dates at Daytona International Speedway will be announced soon.

The 13th Welcome To Rockville featured its most powerful collection of artists yet, including headliners Motley Crue & Disturbed (Thursday), Limp Bizkit & Jelly Roll (Friday), Foo Fighters & Queens of the Stone Age (Saturday) and Slipknot & Evanescence (Sunday), along with Judas Priest, Greta Van Fleet, Falling In Reverse, A Day To Remember, Breaking Benjamin, Bad Omens, The Offspring, Mudvayne, Koe Wetzel, Stone Temple Pilots, Primus, Cypress Hill, Sum 41, a rare appearance by Mr. Bungle, and many others. In a monumental fusion of punk rock history, two iconic bands from opposite shores, British veterans U.K. Subs and America's sweethearts Dead Boys, are set to release a blistering collection of cover tunes on a 7" vinyl, igniting a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration that pays homage to the British invasion era of the '60s, which transformed the music charts on both sides of the pond.

This electrifying release features the immortal U.K. Subs frontman Charlie Harper commanding the mic, accompanied by the equally unstoppable Dead Boys guitarist Cheetah Chrome. UK-based prog band Returned To The Earth are pleased to announce the new album Stalagmite Steeple due out on June 14th via Giant Electic Pea. The follow-up to the critically acclaimed "Fall of the Watcher,' the new album is another intriguing journey through main man Robin Peachey's particular take on life.

You can listen to the album's opening track and first single "Dark Morality" now. Robin Peachey on the new album: "The writing for Stalagmite Steeple began in late 2020 during the recording of Fall Of The Watcher, my previous album. It's been a 2 1/2 year recording process to get the album finished and I have worked again with Paul Johnston as producer/engineer/additional musician. Rise Against today announced a North American headlining tour that will begin on October 14th in Denver, CO, and the nearly six week-long run will see the venerable band performing songs from across their multi-Gold and Platinum catalog.

"We can't wait to head out this fall with some old friends and new friends," the band says. "Since we'll be playing some venues we haven't played in a while, we thought we'd also dust off some songs we haven't played in some time." (continue)

Husband-and-wife duo Eleyet McConnell just released a new singled called "Don't Tell Me Why", and to celebrate we asked Chris McConnell to tell us about the song. Here is the story:

We wrote this song with one of our dearest friends, Darla Northup. Back in 2017 we (Angie, Darla and I) started getting together on Tuesday nights to write music. We'd go to Darla's and head to the basement. The amount of red wine consumed during these sessions is probably ridiculous because both Angie and Darla had joined a wine club and that stuff was coming to both of them in cases in a regular schedule. Ha! Some of it was terrible but some was really great and we wrote some amazing material in that basement. (continue)
