Deftones' Chino Moreno To Perform Inside A Volcano
.
(Radio.com) Deftones will headline Iceland's Secret Solstice festival this year, but there's a twist. Frontman Chino Moreno has announced he will play a solo acoustic set inside Thrihnuagigur volcano on June 18th, with the event aptly titled Secret Solstice presents Inside The Volcano. Although there have been artists to play atop volcanoes, a press release claims this is the first time in history an artist has performed publicly inside a volcano. Icelandic act Snorri Helgason will play a few tracks acoustically as well, opening the performance for Moreno. Twenty lucky fans will be lowered 400 feet for the performance, which will be held inside the volcano's dormant magma chamber. The event sold out in just a few days, even before any Moreno was announced as the performer. Read more here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com. |
