KISS co-founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons recently sat down with American Songwriter to discuss a variety of topics including the band's pending retirement.

They are currently engaged in their multi-year End Of The Road Farewell Tour and Simmons thinks that the time is right to take their final bow. He told American Songwriter, "I still have hair on my head - lots more on my back. They call me Chewbacca.

"KISS will continue. The culture will still continue. We're just getting off the stage while the getting is good, and while we're still convincing doing it. We're the hardest-working band on the stage. (continue)

Tempt have released a new video for their cover of Queen's, We Will Rock You that captures performances on their European tour at iconic festivals such as Hellfest, Download, Rock Im Park/Am Ring, Graspop and support dates for Iron Maiden, Shinedown, Tremonti and Theory. The band reworked the largely unknown "fast version" of the song as the encore for their set on the tour.

The video and single release were inspired by the incredible response the band received from European music fans. "The entire tour, fans were just going all out and giving us so much support," said Tempt's lead singer, Zach Allen. At our first festival show at Rock Im Park the fans were going off and when we got to the chorus of We Will Rock You, we could hear them singing it back to us. At that point we decided we would end every show with it." The video captures not only the breakthrough performances of the band but also celebrates the festivals and most importantly the fans reaction to the band through the use of crew and fan filmed footage, photographs and social media posts. Suicide Silence have released a music video for their new song "Alter of Self." The track comes off their seventh album, "Remember... You Must Die", which will be hitting stores on March 10tg.

"'Alter of Self,' musically, is a step in a much more melodic direction than the tracks we've released as of late," says guitarist Mark Heylmun. "It's speaking a much different language, but still has all the bone-shattering groove and breakdowns you'd expect from us. (continue)

British Heavy Metal legends Saxon unveil the first single, "The Faith Healer", from upcoming, "More Inspirations", set for release on March 24th via Silver Lining Music.

Following the release of Inspirations in 2021, More Inspirations is the second 'deep dish' serving of the influences which have fed the mighty Saxon's immensely successful 40+ year career. The first single is an astonishing take on The Sensational Alex Harvey Band's "The Faith Healer".

Frontman Biff Byford comments "We used to see The Sensational Alex Harvey band play this back in the day, they started the set with it, such a fantastic song and fantastic band... big influence!"

Legendary English punk rocker Steve Lake of Zounds and American opera singer Mia Dean have shared a DIY music video for their new song "Spell", which comes from their forthcoming duet album, "Blood Moon Wedding: An American Nightmare", that will be hitting stores on April 7th.

07 April 2023 via Mobilization Recordings. The trans-Atlantic post/art-punk duo has dropped the album's first single, "Spell," which comes with a stirring DIY music video.

Steve Lake said of the song, "Spell is the beginning of our story, so I have always had it in mind that we would release it as the first single." It comes in rather triumphant, but also has so many interwoven, chaotic, sonic elements that set the stage for our rather wild adventure."

Dean said of the video, "We shot most of the video at the ruins of Farleigh Hungerford Castle, and in the gorgeous, still standing, 14th century chapel on the site. The rest was filmed on the shore of the San Francisco Bay. The effect is as otherworldly as the bizarre lyrics and delivery. It's great fun to hear and watch their vocal interplay." Watch it here.

California heavy rockers The Zach Waters Band (ZWB) has revealed a lyric video for their track "Right Back At It," off of their recently released album, "Up & Running."

They had this to say, "'Up & Running' is centered around building something from the ground up, and the trials and tribulations of what It takes to be an authentic Rock & Roll band." (continue)

Connecticut alternative rock/emo project Frightful Places created by Kevin Tiernan just released a new self-titled EP, and to celebrate we asked Kevin to tell us about the track "Old Frame". Here is the story:

Old Frame kicked off this entire project and stems from a jarring moment of sleep paralysis. Eight years ago, In the middle of the night, I woke up from a deep sleep and could've sworn that I saw a ghostly figure in a white dress kneeling at my nightstand. The next day, I picked up my guitar and wrote the intro and chorus to Old Frame. In the original demo, I created the drum loops in FL Studio and imported them into GarageBand.

For seven years, the song sat on a shelf. I worked on vocal melodies for the demo from time to time, giving me something creative to do. I remember drafting lyrics during my hikes on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail in New York and the Paugussett Trail in Connecticut. (continue)
