2003 is now about to come to a close. Throughout 2003 there were plenty of music news stories to keep us entertained. In Brief. The month started out with REM announcing their first North American tour in four years (story) � It leaked out that American Idol contestant Corey Clark was facing charges for assaulting his little sister and resisting arrest.  (story) � Avril covered the Dylan classic �Knockin� On Heaven�s Door� for the �War Child: Hope Album� benefit album. (story) � Radiohead songs leaked out onto the web (story) � The Misfits announced the Misfits Fiend Fest that also featured The Damned, DI, The Dickies, Agnostic Front and Balzac (story) � MTV announced an icon special for Metallica that would feature performances from Korn, Limp Bizkit, Sum 41 and Avril Lavigne. (story) � Linkin Park�s sophomore album �Meteora� was released and topped the charts (story) � Limp Bizkit finally announced who their new guitarist was.. Mike Smith of Snot (story) �The RIAA launched their first volley of lawsuits against individual file traders. The first target.. students (story) � Radio giant Clear Channel announced they were dropping indie radio promoters (story) � Some early Black Sabbath recordings were found. (story) � Biohazard went after System of a Down, Audioslave, Ozzfest and Limp Bizkit (story) - Sony settled the lawsuit with Incubus (story) - Someone tried to bust a cap in Snoop�s ass (story) - Gene Simmons tired up some controversy when he spoke out against anti-war protesters (story) - Sharon Osbourne got into a fight with a Hollywood talent agent at a L.A. restaurant (story) - Godsmack smacked Linkin Park from the top of the charts (story) - antiMUSIC got stuck in the middle of a Kelly Osbourne Vs. MTV controversy when press outlets across the world report Kelly band mouthed MTV to us. Didn�t happen, we just reported what she told Detroit News.. Kelly then denied her statements and kissed MTV�s ass -(story) Iron Maiden, Dio and Motorhead announced their summer tour together (story) - Tommy Lee was cleared of charges linked to a child�s death in his home(story)- Limp Bizkit announced that their new CD was so bad they were starting all over (story) - Great White members made their first public appearance after the fire at a benefit show co-sponsored by antiMUSIC and Happenin Harry(story) - Hackers hacked Madonna over MP3 flap (story) - Jason Newsted missed his first show in 17 years due to food poisoning (story) � Scott Wieland joined ex Guns N� Rose�rs (story) - Creed was sued by their fans (story).

In Brief: Metallica started out June by moving the release of �St Anger� up a week.  (story)- Linkin Park�s Chester Bennington was hospitalized (story) � On the 9th we learned that Sylvester Stallone was attempting to bring the story of the investigations of the murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls to the big screen (story) � Former GNR members confirmed Scott Weiland as their singer and announced the group would be called Velvet Revolver (story) � Metallica topped the charts with the release of �St. Anger� (story) �Radiohead announced their No. American tour (story) � Axl Rose crashed the antiMUSIC Led Zeppelin release party and told us that he is co-producing �Chinese Democracy� and said it was delayed because he wanted to make it as perfect as possible before he releases it. (story) � Iron Maiden announced that a new studio album was coming later in the year (story) �A Senator suggested using computer virus to battle illegal mp3 trading (story) � The final Joe Strummer album was announced (story) �Velvet Revolver made their live debut (story) �A roadie sued Blink-182 over an album title (story) �RIAA announced they would sue individual file traders (story) �Former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter hired Tommy Lee to produce tracks for his sophomore solo album (story) -U2�s Bono was the target of death threats (story).
