"As a token of remembrance to the ones we lost," says Bret, "and as a tribute to the American troops and civilians that stood strong in America's darkest hours and those who are still fighting for the world's freedom; as well as for the first responders and their family members, many of whom I have personally met and whom are still feeling the after-effects a decade later, I have created a 10th anniversary video for 'One More Day,' the song I wrote on that unforgettable day." Skid Row Legacy Hindering Sebastian Bach
(RockAAA) Sebastian Bach has revealed his frustration at the never-ending speculation and questions about a reunion with Skid Row and claims promoters are more interested in trying to tempt him to join his former band mates than taking his new solo band out on the road in the UK.

The singer's second solo record 'Kicking And Screaming' is due out later this month with Bach admitting his great pride in the album which he also says contains a handful of tracks which wouldn't be out of place on Skid Row records.

"I never cancelled any tours. It seems like I'm always touring when I don't have a record out and then when I put a record out I'm not on tour. I don't know why that is. It's messed up!," Bach tells Rocktopia. "But I have this thing where promoters expect me to go back to Skid Row for some stupid f**ked-up reason just because everybody else is doing it and they think that everybody has to feel like everybody else. But I'm not like everybody else and my whole reason for getting into music is to make new music. more on this story

Les Claypool Turns Personal Tragedies into New Primus Song
(Rock News Desk) Primus mainman Les Claypool has a lot to be happy about after reactiving his band with long-time "missing" drummer Jay Lane and coming to terms with the "funk" label sometimes attached to his band. But he's also experiencing difficult times in his personal life, and he's poured them into new track Tragedy's A-Comin' even though he's done so with his trademark twisted approach.

"Just that line says it all," Claypool tells MusicRadar. "There's a lot of crazy sh*t in my life right now. My mom is fading away from us; she's not going to be around much longer. My little nephew was diagnosed with leukaemia at only two months old. I have friends battling cancer.

"When I wrote that song I was just like, 'Holy f**king hell.' Whatever metaphor you want to use, into everyone's life a little rain must fall. Well, there you go: 'Tragedy's A-Comin'." more on this story

SSS Announce New Lineup
(EAR) SSS have announced their new lineup featuring Stu Taylor (guitar) and Dave Archer (drums), who both also play in stoner metallers The Bendal Interlude, and who replace outgoing members Pete Broom and Dave Fergusson.

Stu Taylor comments: "To have joined SSS is great. Having been in a band with Foxy before, we are used to each other's working methods. Mark is an experienced bass player and we immediately gelled as a band. Gonna be good times to come - new songs, new tours, new experiences. We can't wait."

SSS frontman Foxy adds: "The untimely departure of two members of SSS prior to the release of 'Problems to the Answer' was unfortunate. However, in that time we have found a new drummer and guitarist. Stu and Dave are a solid unit. Having been in a band with them before and to have watched them shred Liverpool for years, they were the natural choice. We are made up; they have joined up. With the prospect of touring and writing new material, it's an exciting time for SSS and we can't wait to get out and finally play again." more on this story

My Dying Bride Set EP Release
(Fresno) Peaceville Records have announced a November 7th release date for My Dying Bride's new single track, 25-minute EP, 'The Barghest O' Whitby,' on CD and limited vinyl.

Said the band on the origin of the idea, "Carrying straight on from the success of Evinta found us kind of out of breath for a second; we were already aware of a new-found love of all things bleak and grey and were eager to start writing in a more traditional My Dying Bride style. What did catch us off guard was the increased heaviness and the fresh approach to song writing. Moving away somewhat with the lyrical theme from our usual feeding ground, we found ourselves on the rainy moors of Yorkshire contemplating the story of the Barghest, a supernatural entity hell bent on revenge. The tale now to be told wove itself into a 25-minute epic which initially we thought would be a three part EP, but it simply became one very long song full of everything My Dying Bride and more. The violins conjure lonely tears atop a chasm of epic British doom."

'The Barghest O' Whitby' was recorded at Futureworks Studios, Manchester with long-time production partner and engineer, Mags. The release is the first to feature violin/keyboardist Shaun Macgowan, and sees the return of Shaun "Winter" Taylor Steels to the drum-stool for this recording. The cover artwork for 'The Barghest O' Whitby' also appears courtesy of vocalist, Aaron Stainthorpe.

DevilDriver Frontman Recalls Bad Work Experience
(Rock News Desk) DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara says his brief tenure working for his stepfather cemented his attitude to life, which he bears out in his music career.

He's one of a number of big names who have shared memories of the worst jobs they had before turning pro, to mark the US Labor Day celebrations earlier this week. "I was working construction with my stepdad. It was the worst. He was uptight and pissed every day, all day, and I bared the brunt of that," Fafara tells Noisecreep. "One day when I was 15 years old we were pouringewq concrete with five other workers and he said the wrong thing to me. I finally had it, and told him where to put it.

"I then walked 14 miles home. I left at 12.30pm and he passed me in his truck at about 4.30pm, with about three miles still to walk. He honked his horn and kept on driving," he recalls. "My attitude is still the same: want to f**k with me? I will go it alone." more on this story

Singled Out: An Early Ending's Home
Today An Early Ending's singer Alex Runk and bassist Mike Tarrant tell us about the song "Home" from their brand new EP "Igniter" which hit stores yesterday. Here is the story:

"Home" is essentially the end of the story told throughout the album Igniter of a guy facing the reality of the steps he's taken in killing the love of his life. He wakes in the middle of the night to the voice of a demon and soon becomes possessed and looses his ability to comprehend reality, and can't find a way to deal with his life anymore after everything he's done. This song unveils all the emotions of the character through the eyes of himself and his possessed or crazy state of mind.

We wanted to write a song that takes our path of writing on a more mature route and broaden the styles that we reference in our music. We really love rock and roll music, anything from Def Leapord, Taking Back Sunday, The All American Rejects to Circa Survive. And wanted to create something in our genre that sounds more rock influenced than metal. So hopefully when people listen to this track or any other track off this album they have fun picking out all the things we've listened to and loved from our lives and how we put our own twist on it.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
