Kaosis unites with Soilwork's Bjorn Strid on the epic Nu-Prog track "Blood Of Angels". Bjorn Strid is widely recognized as one of the most talented vocalists in modern metal. He can effortlessly shift from soul-crushing gutturals to operatic falsetto. Not only has he fronted Soilwork since its inception in 1995 but has also lent his voice to a diverse range of acts such as Motionless In White, Powerwolf, and more recently Epica.

XEN, Kaosis vocalist and producer, said "I needed someone that could deliver choral operatics as well as bone-crushing authority. The list of candidates was short. Speed (Bjorn) was my first choice". (continue)

Mandoki Soulmates - the international and inter-generational supergroup consisting of rock and fusion grandmasters surrounding founder and mastermind Leslie Mandoki - proudly announce their new album, A Memory Of Our Future, to be released worldwide on May 10th via Sony Music's label InsideOutMusic.

The group celebrates the announcement with the release of a new single and video, Blood In The Water. A Memory Of Our Future is Mandoki Soulmates' latest work of art and nothing short of an instant prog-rock classic, bringing world-class musicianship and composition together with trenchant social and political messaging. The entire album was recorded and produced purely in the analog domain, from microphone to mixing and mastering, making A Memory Of Our Future a manifesto of precision and passion that is hard to find in today's music landscape. Recorded and mixed in Leslie Mandoki's Red Rock Studios near Munich, mastered in the infamous Sterling Sound Studios in New York and cut in the Emil Berliner Studios in Berlin, the Soulmates are also making a statement as a kind of "revenge of the analog" in times of digital deception, scam bots, and internet trolls. The analog format is also an expression of their special appreciation and bond with the band's audience, "like a love letter handwritten with a fountain pen." (continue)

Indie folk star Laura Brino just released her new single and video "Butterfly," and to celebrate we asked her to tell us about the song, which is the latest single from her forthcoming album "Cactus Moon" (due April 5th). Here is the story:

When asked about my writing process, it has always been difficult for me to pinpoint exactly how certain songs come about. I have spent my life absorbing the stories and experiences of people around me, and Butterfly is no exception to this. As I entered my 40s last year, I realized that so many of the experiences that I was having along with loved ones around me felt different than when I was younger. There was a level of heaviness. Years and years of build up from living through joy, sadness, grief and exhaustion. People staying in narcissistic relationships and losing themselves. Spending years pretending to be someone else and realizing that they would give anything-even one day-to live authentically and freely. With that being said, when I'm writing music, I tend to enter a meditative state and channel my own experiences and all of the stories and experiences of people around me. It gets processed and comes out through song. If you were to ask me about the writing process with Butterfly, it would be this: I blacked out and wrote this song in a half hour on a Spring afternoon.
