(PR) Finnish sensation Nightwish has ended its meticulous search for a new frontwoman. The band announced today that Anette Olzon, a Swede formerly of the band Alyson Avenue, will replace former singer Tarja Turunen.

The band met Olzon on her first visit to Finland earlier this year. After having gone through over 2000 applications, Nightwish knew they had found a match. In an official statement the band said, Shes already so much more than we were ever expecting to get. Long live new Nightwish! The new album will be a monster!!!

Olzon stems from a musical upbringing, she has been performing and singing since childhood. She has also studied music and performing at Gteborg Balettakademie, Copenhagen Conservatory and Malm Music University.

Nightwish is currently in the studio, working on a new album due this fall.
