The Mars Volta have shared a new version of the track "Blank Condolenses" that comes from their forthcoming acoustic album, "Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazon", which will arrive on April 21, 2023.

Much more than a simple "un- plugged" version of 'The Mars Volta' - the bands self titled seventh album and return as a band - this acoustic rendition furthers the mission of the source music, which drew into sharper focus the traditional Latin influences that have always inspired Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala. This is, says Rodriguez- Lopez, The Mars Volta's version of a "folk record", tracing the melodies and rhythms of the parent album back to their traditional Caribbean roots and chal- lenging listeners to hear the group in an entirely new light. So Cal Rockers Rival Sons have shared a new single - "Bird In The Hand", which comes from the band's full-length album, "DARKFIGHTER", that is set for release on June 2nd.

Commenting on the new track vocalist Jay Buchannan noted, "There's a lyric in there, 'Let's go down to the river where the water runs still and deep, to scatter the ashes of the mess I used to be.' You can burn through a whole lot of time just trying to find your lane, your realized intention. At some point you accept reincarnation as a waking process. Build, refine and burn again and again and the lyric, 'A bird in the hand, now that's a miracle I can believe' is the immersive commitment to the present." (continue)

Prog legends Yes have announced their new studio album MIRROR TO THE SKY on InsideOutMusic/Sony Music on May 19 and today (March 10) share the album's first track and video, "Cut From The Stars."

"This is a very important album for the band," says Steve Howe, YES' longest serving member, master guitarist, and producer of MIRROR TO THE SKY. "We kept the continuity in the approach we established on The Quest, but we haven't repeated ourselves. That was the main thing. As Yes did in the seventies from one album to another, we're growing and moving forward. In later years, Yes often got going but then didn't do the next thing. This album is demonstrative of us growing and building again." For YES, that "next thing" is a collection of high energy, intricate, lush and layered new studio songs for an album which adds to the band's much heralded legacy, while charting a path to exciting future times ahead. To round up our look back at some of Queen's most iconic opening numbers, we revisit the legendary Magic Tour of 1986 to see how those massive stadium shows were kicked off in style with One Vision.

Queen The Greatest Live, continues with another example of Queen kicking things off in style with an incredible opening number. When Queen undertook their now legendary Magic Tour of European stadiums in 1986, the opening number was going to have to be something very big to captivate the enormous crowds. After all, Freddie had promised for their return to Wembley and their home town for the first time since Live Aid '85: "We are going to play on the biggest stage ever built at Wembley, with the greatest lightshow ever seen." Mid-Atlantic rockers Silvertung recently returned after a two-year hiatus with their brand new single, "Integrity". To celebrate we asked frontman Speed Vincent to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

We are excited to finally release brand new Silvertung music. But it came with a price! They say, negativity brings out some of the best song writing. Well, where do I begin... As Silvertung was starting our rise to the next level in our music career, so was the pandemic. Blindsided by all that was to come. The band seemed to be pushing harder than ever. Jumping off the heels of our EP's success in late 2019. We were preparing for a three-month US tour, with overseas attention rolling in. The band was finally climbing that ladder fast. (continue)
