Hot Mulligan have released a visualizer for their new single "Shhh! Golf Is On", which comes from their forthcoming new album 'Why Would I Watch' out May 12 via Wax Bodega.

Produced by longtime collaborator Brett Romnes, 'Why Would I Watch' is Hot Mulligan at their loudest, their poppiest, and, ultimately, their most poignant: twinkly Midwestern emo guitars and mathy, synthy-heavy rhythms, Tades Sanville's sandpaper vocals and indelible melodies. This lightning-in-a-bottle kinetic energy is encompassed on the aforementioned first single and in true Hot Mulligan fashion, a closer listen to the lyrics reveal an intense honesty that could get written off if you don't pay attention. The 40th anniversary of ZZ Top's hit "Eliminator" album is being celebrated by the syndicated radio show In The Studio With Redbeard: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands.

Redbeard had this to say, "Prior to the March 1983 release of ZZ Top's Eliminator, it's not like the Texas trio had been struggling or anything. Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard had already been releasing albums and touring for over a decade, and Gibbons had been elevated among the rock world's most prestigious guitar players as a wholly original and immediately identifiable Tone Monster. But Eliminator, with its four Top Twenty hits, modern ear candy updated production, and campy, quirky videos blanketing the new 24-hour video channel MTV forty years ago, was a flat-out international phenomenon. Steven Page has announced the 100th episode of his Live From Home series that will be taking place on Saturday, March 18th. In the Spring of 2020 it became painfully apparent to Steven Page that because of the worldwide pandemic, planned tour dates weren't going to take place. He decided to connect with his fans through a livestream performance from the basement of his home in Manlius, NY, and now almost three years later, he's planning the 100th edition of his Live From Home concert series seen around the world via Zoom.

"In the beginning, when I realized I was unable to tour, I thought I would do just one show. Looking back on that first show [on April 25, 2020], I realized there was a demand for it when a thousand people tuned in - the max capacity of Zoom. It pushed me creatively and it was fun, so we've continued." (continue)

The Lad Classic recently released their new single "Feelin' High" and to celebrate we asked Paul Stevens to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

I started writing this song on Jan 28th, 2020 (I started dating my writing in 2018 in my notebook so I could pull it out for something like this and look super meticulous) and ended up being a couple years from that point to recording at the end of 2021. The initial draft was easy to write, especially the original chorus being more of a repetitive phrase. I brought the song back to the guys and we built the music around it, which came quite easy as well. From that point it was a little like dragging someone to a party at times. You knew it would be good and they would enjoy it, but it wasn't quite finding its legs. (continue)
