Drain share a music video for their cover of the Descendents track, "Good Good Things", ahead of new album LIVING PROOF out May 5th. Tackling the 1985 classic, the reimagined version comes as a change of pace for the band who trade in their thrash roots for melodic punk, debuting smooth baritone vocals from front man Sammy Ciaramitaro.

In tribute to their labelmates of legendary status, Sammy explains: "The Descendents were a huge band for me as both a teenager and as an adult. I know I can speak for all of us when I say that it's an honor to pay homage and respect to them, as a band that changed the game for us. I just straight up love this track and in a weird way felt like lyrically, it hit home and touched on the same themes that Drain is all about. (continue)

The Schellraiser Music Festival will take place June 1 - 3 near the small town of Ely, Nevada. The headliners include Dinosaur Jr., Blonde Redhead, Asleep At The Wheel, The Joy Formidable, Blitzen Trapper, Murder By Death and more. Bands will play in one of the most stunning high-desert landscapes in North America, surrounded by the majestic Schell Creek Mountain range, for which the fest is named.

This is the second year for the micro-fest -- the first seeing Old 97's, Houndmouth, Shannon Shaw, BRONCHO and more than 25 other bands perform at the remote McGill Pool Park three hours southwest of Salt Lake City. With much smaller crowds than most festivals average, Schellraiser 2022 offered festivalgoers and bands alike a rare chance to interact and engage with each other in a unique natural setting, at an event where the focus was squarely on the music. Event founder Rudy Herndon says, "Old 97's frontman Rhett Miller announced that the lineup was probably the best-curated one he'd ever seen, and guitarist Ken Bethea paid us the ultimate compliment by comparing the overall vibe to that of Marfa, Texas." Celebrated as one of Alternative rock's most important trailblazers, Louise Post - of seminal band Veruca Salt - will be releasing her first solo album, entitled Sleepwalker, on June 2 on El Camino Media. Produced by Matt Drenik (Lions, Battleme), Sleepwalker is a classic combination of Post's ability to weave intricate lyrical tapestries with undeniable, hook-heavy melodies. The album's first song, a perfect reverie of guitar haze called "Guilty," is available to hear now. Louise has also announced a 19-date headlining tour in support of the album.

For the past three decades, Louise Post has been the co-frontwoman of the celebrated act Veruca Salt, whose massive hit singles like "Seether" and "Volcano Girls" are still in regular rotation on rock radio. Although Veruca Salt has consistently released music with Post as the sole constant member, during the pandemic she started writing a collection of songs that felt more personal and less like the follow-up to Veruca Salt's 2015 return-to-form, Ghost Notes. "Out of nowhere, these songs started flowing out of me and almost appeared to be writing themselves," Post explains, adding that many of these melodies came to her during the transitive state between sleep and consciousness known as hypnagogia. LA-based indie folk artist Albert Kass recently released a new single called "Formidable (For Me Dabla)" from his forthcoming album "Young Old Man". To celebrate we asked Albert to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

My former partner and I were sitting around when I stumbled upon a happy-go-lucky chord progression with a matching strumming pattern. For whatever reason, we started chatting about the lost art of flirting with someone, irl. We came up with a cute and somewhat sinister story where the narrator uses subterfuge to seduce a total stranger. The subtext is subtle, but if you pay close attention to the lyrics, it's there.
