Pearl Jam have released a brand new single called "Wreckage". The single comes from their forthcoming studio album, "Dark Matter," which will arrive this Friday, April 19th via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records.

Stone Gossard said of the new song, "That one probably has the biggest build for me personally, in terms of hearing it at first and thinking, it's kind of an Ed song. I wasn't quite aware of its potency until later. (continue)

Known for his time in both the legendary thrash metal band Megadeath and the power metal band Angra, as well as his solo projects, Kiko Loureiro is finally willing to part with a number of pieces of stage-and-studio-played gear - along with personal items like sweatbands, t-shirts, and his Gracie Barra Brazilian jiu-jitsu gi - all of which will be available to fans and fellow music makers alike when the items in the shop become available for purchase next week. California / UK artist Telling Secrets just scored BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock's 'Track of the Week' with their new single "(They Say) Bliss is Oblivion" and to celebrate we asked band leader Vik Kovacs to tell us about the 'anti-political' anthem.

I wrote this song out of frustration and anger towards some things I've experienced. It can apply to the sovereign and the current social climate too.

The basic idea is 'oblivion is bliss', when you become aware of things, you become unhappy and frustrated. I think that's reflected in life everywhere these days. I also think priorities aren't quite where they should be today. Having said that, living in the dark isn't the answer either as you cannot experience happiness that way either. (continue)
