Silent Planet frontman Garrett Russell was treated in a hospital after the band's tour van was involved in an accident and rolled over while traveling on their just launched tour with The Plot In You.

Garrett broke the news to fans via Twitter. He first tweeted, "just got in a van wreck. It rolled. everyone is okay. Bleeding from head not sure how to make it stop. seeing colours. love you. I was laying in my bunk, had just clocked out from a drive. love u all. Be consumed." (read more)

August Burns Red have shared a video for their brand new single, "Ancestry", that features a special guest appearance from Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach.

The band released the new single and video to celebrate the announcement of their forthcoming album, "Death Below", which will be hitting stores on March 24th. (read more)

Chicago singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jared Rabin just released his album "Chasing the Light", and to celebrate we asked him to tell us about the single "Tunnel's End". Here is the story:

Musically, "Tunnel's End" is a familiar blues form that is found all over American music. It is somewhat disguised by the major key, a few extra bars here and there, and an additional section as the chorus, but a 12 bar blues is definitely the musical foundation of the song. (continue)

This November 27 marks Jimi Hendrix's 80th birthday. In recognition of this milestone occasion and the tectonic changes he brought to music, Jimi's life, music and legacy will be celebrated with an all-star concert tribute event at Austin City Limits Live's Moody Theater on the evening of Sunday, December 4.

(hennemusic) U2 frontman Bono has announced that he will guest and perform on the Thursday, November 3rd episode of CBS-TV's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The rocker will be on hand to promote his newly-published memoir, "Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story," which sees Bono writing for the first time about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with - from his early days growing up in Dublin to today. (read more)

Placebo have announced rescheduled dates for their North American Tour, which is now scheduled to take place in April and May of next year and will promote their latest album, "Never Let Me Go".

They will be kicking things off on April 17th in Mexico City, MX at the Palacio de Los Deportes and the tour will conclude on May 20th in Denver, CO at The Fillmore. (read more)

Botch and Minus the Bear guitarist David Knudson has recruited Cursive frontman Tim Kasher to provide vocals for his brand new single, "No Ways No Means".

The track comes from Knudson's forthcoming EP, "Undo / Redo", which will arrive on November 11th. Kasher had this to say about the collaboration, "Upon first hearing Dave's song, I found it very forward, direct, a nearly antagonistic guitar riff. And those drums, so gnarly. I thought I'd complement it with something playfully antagonistic as well..." (read more)

(hennemusic) Black Star Riders have released a cover of The Osmonds hit, "Crazy Horses", as the latest preview to their forthcoming album, "Wrong Side Of Paradise."

Originally issued in 1972 as the heavy rock title track to the US group's fourth album, the tune was a US Top 15 hit for the outfit. "We hope you enjoy our take on The Osmonds' classic!," says Ricky Warwick (read more)

Metal veterans Morbid Angel have announced that they will be celebrating their 40th anniversary next spring with The United States Tour Of Terror.

The trek is scheduled to kick off on March 15th in Pensacola, Florida at Vinyl and will conclude on April 22nd in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at the Culture Room. (read more)

Southern New England rockers Junro are releasing their "Matches
EP this week and to celebrate we asked them to tell us about the title track, "Matches". Here is the story:

From a song-writing perspective for the EP, Matches was the biggest struggle for us. When working with Andrew Groves (Arcane Roots) on the pre-production, we ended up having the most revisions for this track. So many, in fact, we ended up losing count after 20 demo versions. There were several parts of the original versions of the song that we thought were awesome that ultimately got scrapped to make the song as a whole flow a lot better. We were very skeptical, but in the end, the final version of the song turned out so good, that all of it was worth it. (continue)
