Katy Perry Wrote A Song About Suicide

(Radio.com) Katy Perry has spoken candidly about her struggles with alcohol and depression and even admitted that she has thought about suicide. "I wrote a song about [suicide]," she said during a teary talk with Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh. "I feel ashamed that I would have those thoughts, feel that low and that depressed."

The revelations came over last weekend during a four-day-long reality show-style live stream, promote her new album Witness. Not all of the event was confessional and revelatory. The live stream also depicted Perry practicing yoga, meeting guests like celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and sleeping after a long, draining day.

"I have been in therapy for five years, she said at the beginning of the session. "It's changed my life. Usually, everything is very confidential in therapy. Everybody's like, 'I could never tell my deepest, darkest secrets to anyone.' And we swallow them and we keep them and they become petrified. And actually, you know, the things that you fear, or whatever your secrets are, that's why therapy's amazing. And also things you don't even know that you have [come out in therapy, including] traumas from childhood." Read more here.

Lorde Performs New Song On 'Tonight Show'

(Radio.com) Lorde is in full-on promotion mode for her new album Melodrama. The eccentric New Zealander is making rounds on the interview and talk show circuit, talking as candidly as she will about her life, revealing quirky tidbits and singing cuts from the record.
Earlier this week, she performed "Perfect Place" on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and, well, it was pretty perfect. Dressed in a white T-shirt and a white jacket that seemed to have stalks of flowers attached to the back, Lorde looked slightly like an anemic peacock but delivered the song with passion and grace. She started off solo with a piano accompaniment, then performing with lush keyboards and backing vocalists and syncopated beats.

She also sat down with the talk show host, who asked her if she was, indeed, the architect of the onion rings review page on Instagram. She admitted that she was the culprit, but that it wasn't as much fun as she hoped it would be.

'It was fun for about 5 seconds," she said, then added, "I think they're underrated. They don't get enough credit for how delicious they are." Lorde also talked about the ups and downs of being famous, how she likes to write when no one else is around and her love for the Flame Diner. Bet they serve amazing onion rings. Harry Styles Approached To Be Questionable Spokesperson

(Radio.com) When you're a mega-famous boy bander (as Harry Styles was in 2012), you're likely to get approached to promote some dodgy products. For example, Harry Styles as poster boy for SheWee, a urination funnel for women, doesn't make a lot of sense.

But that didn't stop a marketing rep from trying to recruit Harry as their celebrity spokesperson. 'They sent me a bunch and I don't know if I was supposed to do anything with them. I guess I was supposed to give them to my friends," he told The Daily Star.

In 2012, Styles tweeted about the strange overture the company made, simply writing, "Just found a box of SheWee's in my room". It was the endorsement that could have been and never was. But hey, Katy Perry has some thoughts on upright female urination, if the company is still looking for a celebrity to pitch their product.
